A Check-In
Hello, lovelies. Damn, I've really let this thing slip, haven't I?
There has been a lot going on but I'm putting in an effort to pull this disaster of a blog together into something. So I wanted to check in with you all and let you know that I'm here, I'm alive, and some things are coming. More writing articles, extra content and behind-the-scenes of this glamorous author life (I say as I'm sitting in my bedroom telling myself that writing this is work and I'm allowed to put off the chapter I need to finish today for it), and we'll see what else. I hope you'll all be looking forward to that, because I am.
In other news, I have a few things to share writing-wise:
1. Everlast is out!!
Yeah, I know, we're like a month and half past but I still felt the need to share and celebrate. Everlast: Book 3 of The Otherworld Trilogy is now available for sale! I can't believe the series is done but I'm so happy it is. It's a definite bittersweet thing for me. I've spent 4 years on this series and it means a lot to me to have it finished. And don't the books look stunning together?

2. I've won my first award!

You may or may not have seen on the home page, but I've officially won my first writing award! In April Arcatraissa received the 2019 Meridian Writes Award from the incredible Meridian Library District and a board of community judges. I'm so honored to be this year's recipient and can't wait to see where this takes me. It's given me a whole new outlook and made me consider putting my writing out there more for things like this--I entered Meridian Writes with a "why not" mentality and honestly didn't expect to be a finalist, much less win. So here I have to give a massive shout-out to everybody involved in making this happen, from my editor (if you're reading this, Bri, I know I've said it before but I'll say it again, you are the best) to everybody involved in Meridian Writes to all of you, for being here to read and support my work. It really does mean so much to me and you're such a big part of making all of this happen. Thank you.
3. So what's next? I've had a couple things cooking up that I want to share.
The first is my novel Tide. If you follow my Instagram (@lacysheridanauthor) you may have seen a handful of posts mentioning Tide, but I really haven't talked about it all that much. Tide is my first venture into high fantasy, which I've discovered I absolutely adore writing, and with all the chaos and adventure my characters seem to thrive on. I've always loved aquatic mythology, the ocean, mermaids, all of it, and I finally decided to do something with that. Tide is my take on it, with some of my own inventions thrown in for good measure, and I do plan to make it my next release. While I can't say for sure when it will be coming out, as it's still in editing, I am hoping to publish it early next year and I hope you'll all enjoy it. I had a blast writing it. Some extras and more news involving Tide will be posted in the future, so keep an eye out!

Along with Tide, I'm also working on another new series. What's currently working under the overarching title of Veil is my biggest project to date and I'll hold off on telling you guys too much about it until some more things are in place, but it's something I'm very excited for. Veil involves some characters and settings that have been through a lot of incarnations in my head over the years and are finally finding their place, and explores some themes that are new to me when it comes to writing, so it's a big deal to me to pull all this together. I can't say when any material from Veil will be released but likewise, watch for news--and especially on the first novel of the series, Wicked Little Creatures.
That's about it for now. Catch you all later.
